Earth Enhancement Compound
Earth enhancement compound (backfill compound or ground enhancement material) is placed around an earth electrode to cut the resistance of high-resistivity soil — rock, sand, laterite and dry ground — by holding moisture and providing a low-resistivity conductive shell that stays stable through dry seasons. LPES supplies bentonite-based and carbon-based compounds with resistivity below 0.2 Ω·m when set, non-corrosive to copper and GI, non-leaching, in 25 kg bags sized per IS 3043 and IEC 62561-7, for chemical earthing pits, rod and plate electrodes and substation grids.
